Importing Default Content

If you want to set default content for faster site development open pinocchio-export.xml(file situated in base directory of Pinocchio template) via "Tools -> Import -> Wordpress -> Upload file and import".

NOTE: for importing content use this plugin WordPress Importer.

Setting Default Options

When you activate Pinocchio template your next step may be setting default values for options. Navigate "Admin -> Pinocchio" and click on save.

Appearance Settings

Through these settings you can set you background color, background image, main content color and font style. Background color and main color options are powered by color picker so you can just choose your color from palette.

If you want you can active theme box which can helps you to customize website.

Homepage Options

Creating Homepage

  1. Create new page
  2. Select "Homepage, no sidebar" template for page

  3. Navigate to: "Admin -> Settings -> Reading" and set a static front page

Customizing Sections

Pinocchio template provide four basic sections for homepage. Each section has specific options and frontend layout.

You can configure homepage sections in "Admin -> Pinocchio".

Ordering Sections

It is possible to set custom order for each homepage section just set "Order number" in pinocchio's settings page.

Setting Sidebar

It is possible to set sidebar template per page or post just set template value in "Page Attributes" when editing post or page.

For specific pages set sidebar template from "Admin -> Pinocchio -> Global Sidebar Settings".

Every page and post in Pinocchio template has slider options. Under the WYSIWYG editor you can find "Slider" box.

The "Slider" box consists of one select box and five fieldsets for image options. Firstly select your preffered slider in select box(options are: none, custom image, kwicks and nivo) and than fill the image options.

When you select "custom image" from select box just first one image will be shown.

When you select "kwicks" from select box just first four images will be shown.

Custom Menu

Pinocchio template provide two custom menus - Main Navigation and Footer Navigation.

You can find menus options in "Admin -> Appearance -> Menus"

Menu Creation

Firstly navigate to: Appearance - Menus and create new menu. Then choose items like pages, categories or custom links from the left column to add to this menu.

After you have added your items, drag and drop to put them in the order you want. You can also click each item to reveal additional configuration options.

When you have finished building your custom menu, make sure you click the Save Menu button.

At the end you have to select location for your menu. Find "Theme Locations" box and select location for your menu.

Main navigation Location

Here you can control pages that will be shown in the main top menu. Order of the pages is not taken from module Pages. (Order settings from Page module are used only for Submenu that is used in sidebar on the right hand side).

Footer Navigation Location

Here you can control text links that will be shown in the footer.

For contact form we used Contact form 7 plugin. If you want same contact form as we, download it and set this layout:

For portfolio we used WP Portfolio plugin. We implemented two portfolio styles. First, column based style portfolio, you achive by wrapping portfolio into "[portfolio_cols]" shortcode.
